WinRAR – free file decompression software
WinRAR is the most popular file decompression program. Extraction of RAR and ZIP, CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, ISO, 7Z and Z archive formats is its biggest advantage. No program supports such a large number of formats. What’s more, WinRAR is very easy to work with, which means it doesn’t have any problems with stability or decompression quality. In a quick and simple way it allows you to uncompress many different archives, e.g. compressed photo directories, which without compression would take tens of GB of memory.
WinRAR has also become very popular thanks to the Internet. Innovative policy of the owners, i.e. informing that the program is not free, but at the same time allowing to use it without any charges, became a subject of many jokes and inspiration for memes. Nevertheless, the most popular extraction program can be found on almost every second computer, or at least on the one whose user downloads files from the Internet and wants to save time on downloading and uploading data.
WinRAR is one of the programs that probably every computer user should have. It is also worth installing one of the free office programs – such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

Thanks to the function of automatic recognition and choosing the most optimal method of data compression it is an ideal solution for multimedia files. Special release algorithm compresses multimedia, executable files and libraries. It makes it extremely easy to split data archives into separate volumes, thus saving them on separate drives. It is also available for mobile devices running Android OS, for which a special interface has been designed. A command line version of RAR is also available for Linux, FreeBSD and MAC OS X.
